When you log on to a Linux cluster you will find a lot of the same software that you will find on any Linux system. For example default versions of Perl, Python and the GNU Compilers are available by default. As well there are the standard Linux editors and file handling commands.
Additional software including later versions of some of the software that is installed under Linux by default is available via the module command.
If you have software that you would like to test before requesting it to be installed on the cluster you can install it in your cluster home drive using the instructions of the Installing Software for Yourself page.
